# 3D and rendering

3D and rendering are part of the service offer of crida studio, based in Girona. Each commission needs to define what will be represented, what information is available and where the result will be used.

## Start with the image that is needed

An image explaining an idea and an image showing specific details involve different work. Define what the viewer needs to understand and which elements need precise representation.

The final piece also depends on its use. A website cover may need space for text, while a series of images needs consistent framing and finishing.

For example, if the image may appear in Google Discover, Google’s 2026 documentation recommends at least 1200 pixels in width, more than 300,000 pixels in total and a 16x9 aspect ratio.

## Review existing material before estimating

The availability of a model, measurements, photography or references changes the starting point. Review these materials and decide which preparation, modelling and production tasks form part of the commission.

- What should be represented and at what level of detail.
- Materials and references that can be provided.
- The number of views or pieces needed.
- Intended applications, proportions and delivery dimensions.

### Do I need to have a 3D model already?

That should not be assumed. First review the available material and define whether modelling or preparation of the base should be part of the commission.

## Review before the final result

The scope should define how composition, shapes and finishes will be checked before completion. Changing an early decision can involve different work from changing it once it affects the whole set.

Agree who approves references, which decisions need approval and how many revisions are included. The schedule needs to account for those materials and decisions.

## Define the files and their later use

The proposal should identify the final images, formats and intended applications. Delivery of working files needs to be agreed separately.

If the images will sit alongside a brand or website, provide those principles at the outset. Production can then respond to the context in which the image will be seen.

For the web, Google Search supports images in BMP, GIF, JPEG, PNG, WebP, SVG and AVIF formats, according to its image SEO guide updated in March 2026.

On a website, if the render is the largest image visible when the page opens, it counts towards LCP, and web.dev guidance updated in 2025 recommends that it appears within 2.5 seconds.

### Are working files included in delivery?

This needs agreement in the proposal. The number and format of final images and delivery of source files are separate questions.
