# Applied AI and website assistants At crida studio, based in Girona, we work on AI applied to specific business needs. The starting point is deciding which task is worth assisting, with what information and within which limits. An assistant explaining services, a tool for looking up information and automation performing actions have different responsibilities. Start with a defined function and agree how its usefulness will be checked. The work can include the journey, information sources, expected answers and website integration. Actions involving other systems need specific scope and permissions. ### Does an assistant need to perform actions automatically? No. It can be limited to guidance or answers based on authorised information. If it needs to perform actions, define them, set permissions and decide which need human review. ## Information and limits are part of the project Establish where information comes from, who updates it and what the system should do when an answer is missing. A plausible explanation is not enough if it cannot be checked against a suitable source. The EU AI Act has also applied since 2 August 2026, and according to the European Commission, people using a chatbot should be made aware that they are interacting with a machine. - Tasks it can handle and those outside its scope. - Authorised sources and the person responsible for maintaining them. - The data needed and permission to use it. - Cases that should be referred to a person. ## Ona as our own demonstration Ona is the assistant on the crida studio website. It is our own demonstration of how conversation can be part of a digital experience and help guide a visit. A solution for another business depends on its information and processes. A demonstration does not imply that data can be connected or actions performed without first defining permissions and behaviour. - [Meet Ona on crida.studio](https://www.crida.studio/en/) ## Test ordinary questions and edge cases The review should include common questions, missing information, requests outside the scope and errors accessing sources. It should also check how someone can reach a person when the conversation does not resolve their need. Tools, hosting, provider usage and maintenance need to be defined in the proposal. Responsibility for the system must remain clear after launch. ### Can all human review be removed? That should not be assumed. Identify cases that need a person and maintain a contact and review process suited to the business. ## Working with businesses throughout Spain We work from Girona and coordinate projects with businesses throughout Spain.
