Understand the searches and the website offer
Before creating pages, connect the questions potential clients ask with the actual business services. An informational query, a comparison and a search for a supplier do not need exactly the same content.
The review should distinguish existing content, what search engines can read and what still needs explaining. Search Console data helps observe the situation, but does not replace the context of the offer and its customers.
Does the whole website need changing first?
It depends on the diagnosis. Specific pages and content can be addressed, but the review should also check whether the existing technical foundation or structure limits discovery.
What can be addressed
Depending on the scope, work can include a technical review, content architecture, service pages, guides and links between related material. The proposal should distinguish analysis, production and ongoing review.
- Access to and readability of the pages that should be found.
- Titles, structure and content addressing a specific need.
- Connections between services, guides and verifiable projects.
- Language versions and monitoring of queries and enquiries.
Useful content for AI answers too
Google states that its AI features use the same SEO foundations. It does not require a special file or markup to appear in them. Pages need to be readable, useful and consistent with what the business can demonstrate.
A specific page with a direct explanation, examples and clear limits provides more information than repeating variations of a keyword. The aim is to help answer the question that brought someone to the page.
To appear as a supporting link in AI Overviews or AI Mode, a page must be indexed and eligible to show in Google Search with a snippet, according to Google’s documentation updated in December 2025.
In October 2025, Microsoft explained that Copilot is powered by Bing’s search index and recommended writing for intent, avoiding vague language and anchoring claims in measurable facts.
Does SEO ensure an AI system will recommend the brand?
No. It helps make information accessible and understandable, but each system chooses its sources and how it presents the answer.
Separate visibility from business outcomes
Impressions, clicks and commercial enquiries describe different parts of the journey. Define what is being observed and what information is needed before attributing a change to a particular action.
Rankings and citations in AI answers cannot be guaranteed. Monitoring helps reveal what is being discovered, which questions are answered and which content needs reviewing.
